Interpretation and Translation Services

Interpreters must be able to utilize simultaneous, consecutive, and sight interpretation accurately and consistently. They will provide accurate renditions of complex, colloquial, and formal speech, conveying details and nuances in a training environment. May require 30 consecutive days of travel to individual locations.

Translators must provide accurate and thorough written translations from English to a foreign language listed below, and vice versa. Documents will include legal, law enforcement, and training materials. No travel required.

REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
Professional level of proficiency in spoken and written English and at least one of the following foreign languages:

French

Thai

Spanish

Albanian/Romanian

Magyar

Ukrainian

Croatian

Serbo-Croatian

Portuguese

Vietnamese

Bahasa Indonesian

Cambodian

Burmese

Turkish

Macedonian

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:
Level 3+ (Professional Performance Plus)

Minimum of 5 years’ experience providing translation/interpretation services in a professional or academic setting

Ability to provide timely and accurate verbal and written translation from a foreign language to English and vice versa

Certification from an independent entity such as the ATA or NCSC

DESIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in foreign language, business, law enforcement, or related field

Experience providing translation or interpretation in a variety of settings

Experience working in a law enforcement environment and familiarity with police or legal procedures
