FOREIGN LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS
JTG is looking for Foreign Language Instructors to support JTG’s customers in the DC area and nationwide. JTG is looking for instructors in the following languages: Afrikaans, Albanian, Amharic, Armenian, Bengali, Belarusian, Bulgarian, Burmese, Chinese (Mandarin), Chinese (Cantonese), Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Farsi, Finish, Georgian, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Japanese, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Korean, Kurdish, Laotian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Mongolian, Moro, Nepali, Polish, Punjabi, Romanian, Sinhala, Swahili, Swedish, Tajik, Tagalog, Tamil, Tigrinya, Turkish, Turkmen, Urdu, Uzbek, Vietnamese, Zulu, Arabic (all dialects), Azerbaijani, Cambodian, Chechen, Dari, French, Hausa, Indonesian, Italian, Malay, Norwegian, Pashto, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian/Croatian, Slovak, Slovene, Somali, Spanish, Thai, and Ukrainian. Instructors of other languages not listed here are encouraged to apply.
Location: DC Metro Area (or anywhere in U.S.)
Responsibilities
- Provide group and one-on-one language / cultural intensive student-centered training for adult professionals
- Prepare class schedules, tests, and materials as needed
- The instructor will teach listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills, as well as geopolitical, economic and social issues, in an immersion based environment
- The instructor must understand technology and be able to integrate technology in the classroom and in homework assignments
- The instructor should employ internal and external resources to help students achieve their learning objectives
- The instructor is expected to stay abreast of current foreign language teaching theories and methods
Requirements:
- Applicants must be educated, native speakers of the target language
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in, preferably, second language teaching or related field
- Documentation from a private US credentialing evaluation service for foreign degrees
- Minimum of four years’ experience teaching target language to adult learners in an intensive, proficiency-oriented environment
- Teaching experience targeted at diplomatic community in a classroom setting
- Experience developing language instructional materials and curricula
- Experience teaching in an immersion setting
- Experience integrating instructional technology and social media in classroom
- Familiarity with ILR skill levels and the Oral Proficiency Interview
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proof of eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
- Willingness to undergo a background investigation
