New Dawn Integrated Behavioral Health Center, Inc. is a growing organization with opportunities serving populations with emotional/mental health, substance abuse, elder care, domestic violence, trauma, family/marital counseling, and educational advocacy. The services offered include Individual Outpatient Therapy, Medication Management, Group Therapy, Family Therapy, Substance Abuse support, and Math Tutoring.New Dawn Integrated Behavioral Health Center uses an interdisciplinary approach to increase health and patient outcomes serving diverse patient populations. All who enter for service will be encouraged to believe that “With the beginning of each new day, there is Hope for New Opportunities.” PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide therapeutic services for clients of the New Dawn Integrated Behavioral Health Center, Inc.
- Responsibilities include NDIBHC providing out-patient therapeutic service(s) to the individual, family, couples and in-group counseling to children and adults.
- Assist clients with adhering to NDIBHC treatment plans, such as setting up appointments, arranging transportation to appointments and providing support;
- Collaborate with case managers, physicians and nurses to plan and coordinate treatment based on client and family needs; and with outside agencies involved in the treatment of the clients’ needs.
- Counsel clients in individual and family sessions to assist them in dealing with mental and physical illness, poverty, unemployment, or physical abuse;
- Increase knowledge by attending weekly or bi-weekly individual supervision or group supervision and training.
- Interview clients, review records, conduct assessments, and confer with other professionals to evaluate the mental or physical condition of clients or patients, in tandem with all services provided;
- Modify treatment plans and CANS on a quarterly basis;
- Represent NDIBHC and attend school based meetings as needed, and coordinate with outside agencies such as DCF, DYS or the Juvenile Court and Probation Departments.
- Refer clients or family to community resources for housing or treatment to assist with recovery from mental or physical illness, and follow through to ensure service efficacy.
- Responsible for initial insurance authorization; and re-authorization(s) as needed.
- Follow all NDIBHC policies and therapeutic procedures.
- Enter clinical documentation(i,e: intake assessments, progress notes) within 24 hours.
- Responsible for participating in rotational ‘on-call’ service for after-hours emergencies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of three (3) years successful clinical experience.
- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling.
- Applicable licensure.
- Excellent writing skills and familiarity with technology.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience therapeutic outcomes.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member in a diverse/culturally sensitive environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing direct patient engagement.
- Individual or team experience in a medical mental health setting, to improve patient care and outcome.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of current accountability practices as relates to the best means of supporting recovery and utilization of community resources.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the evolving currency of state and federal regulations and ongoing implementation of same, to include complete knowledge of HIPPA regulations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate Degree in related field.
- Demonstrated experience in therapeutic milieu.
- CPR/First Aid certified.
- CANS Certified.
- Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Vietnamese, Albanian, Russian, or Twi.
