Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Shelby Family Pharmacy - Utica, MI

Overview:

A unique opportunity to join a new Pharmacy in Shelby Township Michigan and to grow and prosper along with the growth of the Pharmacy. Shelby Family Pharmacy is looking for full-time and part-time CERTIFIED pharmacy technicians. Pharmacy hours are M-F: 9am – 6pm, Saturday 10 am – 3 pm and Sunday closed along with major holidays. A flexible work schedule can be worked out.

Responsibilities:

• Assists pharmacists in accurately and efficiently filling and processing prescriptions.


• Maintains a high level of accuracy, pays attention to detail and is able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.


• Adjudicates third party prescription claims including, but not limited to, initation and follow up of prior authorizations.


• Provide high level of customer service by answering pharmacy phones and responding promptly to the requests of other team members, patients, nurses and physicians.


• Contribute to the efficient workflow of the pharmacy by maintaining a high productivity level and an error-free work product.


• Maintain the orderliness of the pharmacy by keeping pharmacy countertops and drug bay shelves tidy and organized.


• Enter, access, and verify the accuracy of data in the pharmacy system.


• Performs inventory, ordering and receiving pharmacy stock, cash handling and record keeping tasks related to pharmacy operations.


• Adheres to Pharmacy policies and procedures to ensure delivery of quality customer service.


• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and skill requirements:

• Familiarity with standard pharmacy concepts, practices, and procedures.


• Strong computer proficiency and comfortable learning new computer program.


• Strong verbal communication skills.


• Ability to maintain professional composure in a fast-paced work environment.


• Ability to work independently and as a team player.


• Excellence attendance.


• Long Term Care experience is a plus.

Additional requirements:

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).


• High School Diploma or equivalent.


• Experience highly preferred, minimum 2 years.

Required experience:

• Retail or Long Term Care: 2 years

Required license or certification:

• Certified Pharmacy Technician in Michigan

Required education:

• High school or equivalent

Required language:

• Italian or Albanian a plus but not required
