VL247 is hiring qualified native speakers of any language and culture to facilitate language training to a diverse range of students. Classes take place online in a live, virtual school environment and candidates are required to have computer and technical proficiency. Additional minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree; native fluency in the language; and basic English language skills. Further, it is preferred that applicants possess knowledge and understanding of the ILR proficiency scale (Interagency Language Roundtable). Candidates should also demonstrate knowledge of the respective area’s history, culture, politics and economy; possess the ability to use the latest technology; and be open to new teaching techniques. Also desired is experience in teaching language skills to a wide range of students, from beginners to those at a more advanced proficiency level. Candidates must also be authorized to work within the United States in order to be considered for a teaching position.
Instructors for VL247 be will part of a team approach that develops training content that realistically relates to the student’s interests and needs. Not only will the instructor’s responsibility be to foster an environment that promotes language learning and cultural enrichment but also to demonstrate and incorporate knowledge of the student’s interests and needs into every session.
