Description:
The Applied Linguists Division within the Global Services Group (GSG) has multiple openings for an Operational Language Analyst (OLA-3). The OLA-3 will perform tasks required to process voice and/or graphic language materials in support of SIGINT Operations. Candidates for this position will have requisite language proficiency and skills necessary to perform the work with minimal supervision.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Operational Language Analyst 3 will perform range of cryptologic language processing tasks to include: scanning, sorting, categorizing foreign language materials; recovering essential elements of information; gisting, translating and transcribing; performing quality control of gists, translations and transcripts; mentoring language analysts; compiling and updating operational working aids and databases; and drafting intelligence reports. The Operational Language Analyst 3 will be responsible for related language tasking including, oral interpretation (from target languages into English and vice versa); text translation (from target language into English and vice versa); audio translation (from target language into English; audio transcription in the required language; document exploitation that involves gisting/translation (from target language into English); mentoring language analysts; and teaching the required languages. Additional Cryptologic tasking will include target development; network analysis; speaker identification; language identification; and document exploitation that involves sorting/categorizing /language identification.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), or equivalent. Four years of directly related, applied, practical work experience may be substituted.

Performance at Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) skill level 3 in audio translation and /or text translation from the required language into idiomatic, standard American English.

Equivalent of ten years full-time experience performing cryptologic language processing in required languages. Work history shall include:

At least six years’ experience performing Cryptologic Operations language processing in required languages

At least three years’ experience translating and transcribing and gisting.

At least one years’ experience performing quality control review of audio translations and /or text translations.

Experience mentoring personnel engaged in language processing. .

One year experience typing on an English keyboard.
