Faculty – Center for Foundation Studies


1) Teaching

(Design and develop effective curriculum, Monitor module delivery in terms of its content, structure, delivery methods etc., Learn and apply the latest teaching technologies and innovations, Facilitate an active, student-led learning environment with the use of a variety of creative learning and teaching methods, Focus on student development, Assist in developing research/ project ideas for students and guide them throughout their research, Resolve issues affecting the quality of module delivery/ materials within the team, referring more serious concerns to others as appropriate)


2) Module leader


(Prepare the Module Information Guide (MIG), students’ handouts/ teaching materials and upload to Moodle, Keep students informed on important updates on the course or events, through Moodle, Organize and conduct workshops, industrial visits, guest lectures etc. to provide practical knowledge and experience to students, Responsible for setting question papers (QP) and Answer Keys (AK) and uploading them in the Content Management System (CMS) for moderation, Incorporate suggestions from the moderator, programme manager and Head of Department on the QPs and AKs and submit them to the assessment office, Conduct result analysis and submit to the Programme Managers/ Head of Department and suggest necessary improvements)


3) Moderator


(Ensure that the assessments meet the intended learning outcomes, Provide critical feedback on QPs and AKs and approve in the CMS, Check samples of students’ works and ensure that they are marked as per the marking scheme, Continuing Professional Development, Engage in continuous professional development by attending and participating in seminars, workshops and training programmes relevant to the area of work, Develop research interests and make efforts to publish research papers, Design and practice creative teaching activities, develop experimental programs and collect critical peer reviews, Deliver papers at professional associations, seminars or symposiums at national and international levels, Support on community Outreach, Identify various opportunities/ ideas on community outreach activities based on national needs and priorities and share with the department, Take an active role in supporting the Head of Department and the Management in planning, organizing and conducting related programs)


4) General Academic Responsibilities


(Engage in academic advising and guide students to achieve their academic goals, Orient new staff to the rules and regulations of MEC, Work as a module leader or moderator as and when required, As a Team player, Be available, supportive and helpful to new and existing staff and ensure coordination and cooperation within the department, Highlight the areas requiring attention from across the college and work in line with the college’s vision and mission, Carry out duties in accordance with the college’s mission, vision and values and enhance the college’s visibility upholding professional standards, courtesy, respect and value for cultural sensitivity as well as diversity, Exhibit true team spirit and enthusiasm to work and spread positivism among colleagues within and across other departments, Any other Administrational Responsibilities, Carry out any other administrative responsibilities that might be entrusted.).
